Hi.

Welcome to DinoBot Supporters blog.

The DinoBot User Manual is an integrated manual for those who use DinoBot products. (U5PVR / U5Mini / 4K)

It is the most basic manual for using Dinobot products and explains all the functions of the product.

Please read this manual as it will help you to use the product.

This is based on the U5 product, but the way it works is the same.

Note that the text color and the orange color are important parts of the content setting.


Part 06 will cover ATV settings.
In order to use the U5 properly, it is necessary to set it according to the user's environment.

Enter 'Settings - ATV Settings' to enable U5 ATV settings.



Network 'item, you can set up wireless internet connection.



The 'Wi-Fi' item allows you to turn the wireless Internet on and off.
All future settings are enabled (disabled) if the circle is left (gray), enabled (circled) if the circle is right (green).


Select the WiFi network ID that you want to connect to.


If you enter the password, Wi-Fi connection is possible.



If the router supports WPS connection, it can be connected by WPS method.
Click 'Connect via WPS'


You can connect to the router by pressing the WPS button.


You can also connect your own hidden Wi-Fi connection that is not visible on the Wi-Fi list by tapping Add new network.


Enter the WiFi network name and password you want to connect to.



You can set the video output through the 'Display' item.



There is a "Backdrop" menu but it is not possible to set it.



You can make the setting menu letter smaller or larger by using the 'Font size' item.



A total of four levels can be set.



The item 'HDMI auto adaptation' is the option to automatically apply HDMI.



For 4K HDR video playback, 'HDCP v2.2 switch' should be used.

For 4K HDR video playback, the TV must support HDR playback mode.
You must use an HDMI compliant version of the HDMI compliant version of the HDMI compliant version 2.0A or higher.


You can set the resolution through 'Custom display format' item.


For the resolution setting, set the maximum value supported by the video output device (TV, monitor, projector) to be connected.

If you set the maximum value supported by the video output device, you can see the clear screen. If you set the maximum resolution to be supported, the screen will not be displayed.


If 'Prompt' message appears after setting resolution, press 'OK' to apply.



You can set the color through 'Image settings' item.


If you do not know this part, you don't need to touch this setup.



You can calibrate the screen through 'Display area set' item.


You can manually adjust the screen size if the screen is cut off or you can not see it full.


To use chromecasting, box need Google authentication , but U5 is not certified to Google, so Chrome Cast is not available.



Through the 'System Sound' item


You can turn on/off the system sound when you operate the remote control.



You can turn on/off the sound when you operate the remote control....



You can adjust the volume of sound output through the 'Volume' item.



It is the same as pressing the volume control button on the remote control.



You can set the audio option output through the 'HDMI Output' item when connecting to a TV by itself.



If you want to connect a separate optical output cable to the SPDIF terminal through the AV receiver connection, select 'Close' for 'SPDIF Output' item.

Normally you can set it to 'AUTO'.
'LPCM' U5 Remote control volume adjustable option. 
'RAW' is the U5 remote control volume not adjustable option. 
When 'RAW' is set, volume can be adjusted only through AV receiver remote control.


When connecting SPDIF cable, you can set the audio option output through 'SPDIF Output' item.


If you want to connect a separate optical output cable to the SPDIF jack, you must select 'Close' in the 'HDMI Output' item.
LPCM and RAW work the same as HDMI options.



' HBR Degrade Output ' is for multi-channel speaker output..


Set it to 'Auto'.



CEC can be set by entering 'Device - CEC' item.

CEC is a function that can control two devices at the same time with one remote control. It can be used when two devices are connected with each other through HDMI. It should be supported by TV or AV receiver and set separately on TV or AV receiver.
Simply put, if your TV supports HDMI CEC, pressing the U5 power button in this state will turn on the U5 and then the TV will turn on automatically.


You can set the video output device to turn on when the power is turned on, or turn off the video device when the power is turned off.
* Use: CEC on / off
* Auto turn on TV: Auto TV on
* Auto turn off TV: Auto TV off


You can see and manage the list of installed apps through the 'Apps' item.



Through the 'Apps permissions'


You can set app permissions for each.


You can turn off options that you do not think your app needs.

In any case, the important permissions tell you to set it the next time you run the app.


You can check the information of the installed app through the 'Downloaded Apps' item.



You can run your app through the "Open" item.


You can terminate your app through the "Disable" or "Forcestop" item.



You can remove the installed app through the "Remove" item.



When deleting an app, some apps may not delete the cache file or data file.

To prevent this, you can delete the app by deleting the cache by deleting the cache, deleting the data, or removing it.


You can set permissions for each app through the 'Permissions' item.


Unnecessary privileges can be released.



Screen saver can be set through 'Screen saver' item.



Screen saver type can be set through 'Screen saver' item.


* Backdrop: display photo

* Color: Rainbow color image display
* Clock: Digital clock display

* Turn screen off : Disable screen saver



The 'Backdrop'



Displays screen savers with pictures taken by professional photographers.



The 'Color'



Use a rainbow-colored image to display the screen saver.



The "Clock" item will go to the additional option settings screen.




Displays screen saver with time and date.



You can specify the time at which the screen saver starts by using the 'Start time' item.



If there is no device activity for the set time, launch the screen saver.



You can set the power saving mode through the item 'Set power saving mode'.


If the machine does not operate for the set time, execute the power saving mode.



You can test your screen saver by clicking 'Start Now'.


Entering the 'Storage & Reset' item allows you to check the storage space of the store and initialize U5 to its default state.

Unless U5 booting is not possible at all, it is recommended to initialize the product first if you are having trouble using U5 because you can solve some errors in use by resetting to default settings.


Removable disk can be removed and formatted through 'Eject' item.

The USB removable disk can be formatted via the 'Erase & format as device storage' item.

After formatting, you have to be careful because it is hard to reverse.


Press 'Format' to format the USB removable disk.



Initialization of U5 internal memory is possible through 'Factory data reset' item.


Press 'Factory data Reset' to initialize the U5 internal memory.



You can set video color and HDR through 'Advance options' item.




Video color space can be set through 'Video color space & HDMI deep color' item.




'RGB' for monitor or projector 'YCbCr' for TV.

For 'YCbCr420', only 4K TV can be set.
Since the supported bit for each product is different, you can set it to the supported bit. If you support both 8bit and 10bit, you can set it to 10bit.


If the message 'selected is not support, set to back' is displayed, the corresponding color is not supported.

When 'Prompt' message is displayed, you can set the color.
Press 'OK' to apply.


HDR mode can be set through 'TV HDR Mode' item.

For 4K HDR video playback, the TV must support HDR playback mode.
You must use an HDMI compliant version of the HDMI compliant version of the HDMI compliant version 2.0A or higher.


HDR setting is possible through 'TV HDR Mode' item.

If you select the mode supported by the TV or you do not know or do not support it, you can set it to AUTO.


You can configure whether to use Linux through 'Linux' item.



If Debian Linux is installed, enable 'Linux use' to use Linux.



Auto Pairing is for BT remote controlling.

When you enable "Auto pairing", then box will try to pair when BT RCU was not paired.



Enable means, Automatically will try to pair.



You can set the operation of function key by 'Function Key' item.



'Function Key' is the function of pressing the function key by pressing the 'gear wheel' icon button next to the power button on the Bluetooth voice remote control.



* Snapshot: Capture the current screen image
* PQsetting: Advanced color settings
* MediaCenter : Call MediaCenter App.
* Netflix : Call Netflix App
* Live TV : Call Live TV App
etc..


You can check the device information and update the system by clicking the 'About' item.



System update is available through 'System Update' item.



Android TV firmware updates and Linux updates are available.


You can change the visible name when connecting with external system through 'Device Name' item.



Press 'Change'


Variable friendly names are displayed.


At the end, please press 'Enter your custom name ...'.

Press the default name

You can change it to the name you want.

You can press 'Restart' to reboot the U5.




Through the 'Status'

You can check 'IP address, MAC address, Up time'.

Through the 'Legal Information' section


You can check the license for the product.


You can check whether DRM is activated through 'DRM Info' item.

If it say "Ready", it is fine but if it says 'No', Please contact dealer to exchange box.
